| Matty HOLMES
Born in Luton on 1st August 1969, my youth football was played for Limbury Boys Club in Luton and I also trained with the Luton Town juniors. Luton released me at 15 and I signed for AFC Bournemouth as an apprentice. Working through the AFCB ranks, I made my 1st Team debut v Derby County in the Simod Cup in 1988 and my first league appearance v Barnsley on 29th April 1989. While at Bournemouth I was loaned to Weymouth and Cardiff City. After 124 league and cup appearances I moved to West Ham in a £100,000 deal, played in the Premiership making 86 league and cup games before a £1.2 m move to Blackburn Rovers, where I appeared in the Champions League and Premiership, making 12 appearances before a £250,000 move to Charlton. A broken leg limited appearances to only 19 league and cup appearances before retiring from professional football in 2000. I played for Dorchester Town, making 170 appearances over 4 seasons in the Southern League before retiring in 2004 to pursue a coaching career with my own private soccer school. I joined the AFC Bournemouth Academy in 2006 to run the 7 to 11 age groups and after 10 years I left to be appointed Manager of Wimborne Town FC.
