Steve Cuss hailed his men following their crucial 1-0 victory at Abingdon United.
“It was strange game,” the Wimborne Town manager insisted. “We’ve played better this season and come away with nothing. But today we defended well and more importantly scored that vital goal.
“We were under pressure going into this game but gained a magnificent result in a tough environment.
“We fully deserved to win.”
Cuss was also full of praise for new signing Shaun Brian as the defender capped his debut by scoring the winning goal.
“Shaun had a great debut and along with the rest of the back four and goalkeeper Dan Ackerman kept things tight at the back. And to score on his debut was superb.”
